Is self-care selfish?
If you’re like most women today, your day is jammed pack with all there is to do to care for your loved ones, and so you tend to put yourself on the back burner when it comes to you. Little do we know however, that our health and well being begins with committing to our own self-care first.
In order to keep the fire going, it is vital you take some time to rest, recoup, relax and regroup.
As Mother Teresa said, “To keep a lamp burning, we have to keep putting oil in it.”
Today’s video is about adding Oil to Your Lamp.
Most women are so busy filling the lamps of the people they love that they let their own lamps run low. They spend so much time and energy taking care of their children, husbands, aging parents, friends, neighbors, bosses, coworkers, and others that they often neglect themselves.

Follow these 4 simple coaching tips to fill your oil lamp and commit to your own self-care.
1) Simplify Your Life to Reduce Overwhelm: Everyday pressure of getting everything done in one day or other people’s expectations can drain your energy and increase your stress. Begin today to eliminate unnecessary activities, distractions and clutter that complicate your lifestyle and takes up your precious free time.
2) Get some Rest and Relaxation for a Vibrant Healthy Glow: Rest and relaxation helps alleviate symptoms of stress and irritability, and also helps improve your concentration, relationships, sleep, and your energy levels. Give yourself the gift of quiet time and enjoy simple little things, like watching rainfall or playing with the cat, or simply sitting and connecting with someone you love. The key to rest and relaxation is to find one or more strategies that work well for you.
3) Eat Healthy for all day energy: Eating healthy helps you get the most out of life. It nourishes your body and gives you energy to get through each day. It’s key to maintaining a healthy weight, looking good, feeling great and being your best! Healthy eating doesn’t mean sacrificing your favorite foods or severely limiting the amount of food you eat. Healthy eating means choosing a variety of foods that you enjoy and that provide your body with the nutrients and vitamins your body needs for energy.
4) Enjoy an Active Lifestyle for a Strong Healthy Body: Regular physical activity helps you improve your mood, feel more energetic and give you energy to get through your busy day with a more positive attitude. Exercise helps to reduce stress, calm the mind, and improve your sense of wellbeing. Physical activity makes every part of you work better and feel better. To be active every day is a step towards better health and a healthy body weight.
